REASONS YOU SHOULD SEE YOUR OPTOMETRIST

Your eye health is important and worth protecting. Have you ever wondered when you should to visit an optometrist? Here are three common reasons you may need to visit your eye doctor for curative or preventative care.

EMERGENCY CARE

Optical emergencies may take a number of forms. Perhaps you have suffered a cut, or an accident or mishap has left you with a foreign body lodged in your eye. Other emergencies may include things like infections or severe eye pain. If you experience any of these problems, you need to see an optometrist right away.

EYE CONDITIONS

Some eye conditions, such as glaucoma or optic neuritis, may develop gradually over a long period of time. It is important to have these maladies treated as soon as you become aware of them. You may experience symptoms such as:
  • Eye pain
  • Blurred vision
  • Blind spots
  • Flashes of light
These symptoms sometimes may be accompanied by headaches or nausea. Many eye conditions are treatable, but often only if caught soon enough. Check in with an eye doctor as soon as you notice signs of trouble.

CHECK UP

Even if you are not having any worrying symptoms, it is important to get a regular eye exam. This exam may be able to detect changes in vision and catch eye problems before they are able to do any lasting damage.

It is important to receive all the care that is necessary to protect the health of your eyes. To have your eyes examined, call Neon Health Services in East Cleveland at 216-541-5600.
